I've got a customer with DNO approval for 6.6kw field mount. However planning is fafing about. Thinking about the new tie in, anyone done it or has any idea on how to get it. Just need to cover all stations with this one.

Cheers

Do you mean the 'preliminary accreditation' whereby you can lock in a tariff before the actual installation?

This only applies to systems over 50kW applying to OFGEM through the ROO-FIT process. And you need planning permission in place at the time you apply in anycase.

If your customer is sure he will get planning permission he could install without it. Risky, but I did do it once in the heady days of December 2011 to guarantee the original FIT rate. Having planning permission is not a prerequisite of making an ordinary FIT application I believe. Be careful!

Cheers for the clarity Ted ! 6 weeks planning will take us into the next rate... However my customer is in it for the energy not just investment so will wait. Cheers Bruce its not worth the risk.

Ah cheers mate, had my head on other places for the past 2 months. Lining up electrical and construction contracts for next year, just hope the optimism holds. Have quoted for a few commercial solar but businesses are seeing this as a luxury rather necessity, more news about energy prices might change that !!
