Hi all,

We are on the verge of having a detached (by about 30 metres) garage built which will have accommodation upstairs and a small bathroom, I'm trying to work out the best way to heat it, I don't want to start installing separate boilers, pumps etc for a wet system so I was wondering if there is anything suitable in the electrical line, I have seen some flat space heaters but I'm not sure if building control will think they are 'green' enough. I will probably have to have a small header tank above the bathroom for the shower as the mains pressure here is rubbish but I don't think there will be enough capacity for anything else. I'm going to be running a 16mm SWA to the garage so if needs be I can run something that has a reasonable load. Just wondering if anyone knew of anything new and exciting (and not too expensive) that might fit the bill.

Thanks
Down2earth.

we fitted electric heaters on some apartments that didnt have gas they were very good and slimline im not a fan with electric heaters but these we cool (CREDA) YOU CAN WIRE THEM ALL BACK TO A PROGRAMMER TOO

You can use either Air source heat pumps but can be a bit noisey or if you go down the route of storage heating install, fan assisted as these have a much higher EPC rating that conventional convection based units.
