Thought I'd share this one and ask how would you tackle this on a PIR or EICR as there soon to be called?

MK Sentry Split Load cu literally split between two backboards and when I saw the pipe next to it almost had a fit, fortunately its not connected to anything, I haven't pulled the rewireable fuse the paper label in the box says 30A but the linked neutral says 60A.
Anyway I'd be interested to know your thoughts suggestions on this one. I'm aware of the asbestos hazards and no I didn't break the seal, would like to recommend that the DNO upgrade the cut-out but the client is an elderly pensioner and pretty strapped for cash.

Yeah thats what I thought but keep hearing that unless you tell them its on fire or something they charge you or is this just another myth?

if the fuse were to be inadvertently blown, say by connecting the CU busbar to the MET. ( it can happen ) the DNO would have to replace the service head.

Hi there should be no need for that, i come across the metal clad cut out and others all the time, it looks like a newish meter so the meter fixer should have contacted the DNO to have it upgraded, if he didnt then contact them they have a duty of care to provide a safe electricity supply and it should be free of charge!

phone the DNO then. if they,re anything like here, it's taken them 3 months to respond to a query whether or not a site could have PME >

There's loads of these round my way. they usually have 60A 3036 wire in them. Our DNO won't change them routinely. It has to be in some kind of post-apocolyptic state to get it changed - and even then it takes months to get them round.

Been waiting for Eon to replace an old type cut out on one of my jobs since February, when I contacted them they told me it would be free of charge.
