has anyone heard of Nomao, the personalised search engine - Restaurants & Best Places before?

I have just done a good search for electricians in my area and this sites comes up very high (top 5) on google.

They charge £5 to advertise your information - they dont accept PayPal of Google Payments, and their payment site is not even in English!

I dont recall even seeing https in the address bar (not a secure payment site)

any opinions?

Steer clear, with enough people searching keywords you can get a high google ranking (or so I'm told) there could be loads of scammers sitting in an internet cafe somewhere just waiting for your debit card details. Then it'll be let's spring clean Nicholas's bank account

Thank you for your remarks : it is well important for us to make progress. What you've said concerning the https and the non-english page, I have informed my team that there were some troubles. It will be fixed pretty soon.
I can explain you that if we ask for £5 it's to make sure that business owners that registered do really exist. We control every data we get in order no having any spam !
Regarding the payment, we are actually thinking of a new way : maybe using Paypal would be the future possibility.

Nomao is a good local search engine. I recommend you to follow us on tweeter if you have an account @Nomao_UK !

Nomao - good to here

Try putting a PayPal link onto your page so people can pay via PayPal (which is 100% more secure than your payment option) and you will get alot more advertising with you - I will for starters!

£5 I cant moan about - if and only if he put PayPal on then I would be happy to pay £5 purely on the basis of being on page 1 on another search engine - nothing else!

The more places I have my site the more chance of people seeing me

I know its prob a scam - closed page very quickly!

Like I said if he adopted PayPal then I would have paid it - that way he could only have £5 - any other way then the page stays permanently closed.

Also PayPal have messed my account up so I get alot of things free anyway - I didn't say that

You can go on the website and find places you are looking for. It's like Tripdadvisor, Yelp or Qype !
