Hi

I'm installing a bathroom extractor fan this weekend and have a question about the wiring of the humidistat that will be controlling it.

The manufacturers instructions can be found here - http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Technical/DataSheets/Manrose/MR1361_Instructions.pdf

Here's the wiring diagram -

The question I have is that in the diagram there are 3 inputs into the humidistat - mains live, switched live and mains neutral. I'm not sure what the purpose of having a switched live is right after the double pole isolator? I want the fan to always be on, do I need a switch or can I just branch the mains live go into the switched live?

Any help would be appreciated.

A fuse in the neutral !

Pull cord overide for getting rid of the smell of the curry after effects lol

Don't think ventilation is easy .... it is to get wrong !

Electrics too ! Stephen have you considered Part P or am i swearing ?

Would anyone here follow this manufacturers wiring instructions?? lol!!

Again, we have another manufacturer stating that the installer needs to provide a fuse to protect it's equipment!!
If this humidistat needs a protective device, it should be provided within the unit. A 3A fuse will protect neither the humidistat or the 200W fan, just the wiring between the two units....
