HV Authorised

i have recently become hv switching authorisation, i have tried North West distribution networks for jobs, any ideas or contacts on where best to look for work????

It wont make a lot of difference if you are HV authorised with another company as if you get a job with a DNO you will have to go through their authorisation process anyway. I did and it was a longwinded affair having to put together a portfilio of switching under personnal supervision on all the various underground and overhead switchgear. Then I had to sit a three hour interview with two seniour engineers to prove my competance. Other DNO's may differ.

there are jobs advertised "must have !" HV autherisation but you cant get this without working for one of these companys its like the "Airside clearance "Jobs advertised they are relay looking to"Steal" workers from other companys IMO

BTW Well done getting the autherisation I have a couple of M8s doing the LV mains stuff and they say thats hard enough to get
