Fundamentals of the Safe Operation of High Voltage Power Systems

any body completed this course at teh faraday centre middlesbrough??

just after a quick insight!???!!!?? my employer wants me to be the Senior HV AP :)eek:)

Yes did it quite a few years ago ,very good set up ,very informative only down side was at the time the hv gear was quite old . Then there was about 18mth gap before we got any on site then you find it,s brand new and your out of practice with switching & switching /isolation procedures .You really need to be doing it on a regular basis to be compatent. But if you can get on it you will find the guys there first class and you will enjoy the course

Once youv,e been through the course you could get ABB to get one of their engineers on site to go through the switching on the site gear,or perhaps a visit to ABB sunderland (which opened my eyes )

ABB wont be coming back to site to show us any thing!! only time they came back was to inspect some plug in components that "failed" badly in our power distribution racks..!!

yeah i might ask to visit there site...!! :D

mind you the two engineers who came to inspect the ear were bit suspect lol..! probably just because they were mackems!!!
