Today's work involved installing three additional double sockets in a kitchen.

Firstly, I chased and installed new accesories and then before breaking into the ring I tested the existing circuit... nearly didn't as I only tested it three months ago and all was fine. Glad I did because I found an open Neutral!:frown2:

Now a little while back I slated the Kewtech device that allows testing without removing the accessory, well I now take everything back. I hooked my home made wander lead on to one Neutral leg, fired the test lead into the appropriate position on the Kewtech device and swiftly started testing at each accessory... Sure enough and as I suspected one of the Neutral conductors had worked loose.

Anyway, this board has umpteen spare ways and only FOUR circuits and yet I STILL MANAGED to put the Neutrals into the wrong fricking Neutral bar. WHAT A DIME BAR!

Okay so it took me less than ten minutes to discover my mistake but it just proves that you only have to take your eye off the ball for a split second before things can go very unexpectedly wrong on a Friday afternoon! lol

Have a great weekend everyone, I'm off on a CIDER mission now! lol

:thumbsup

Thats nothing ! i got home and put the coffee, sugar & milk in the cup and poured bledy cold water out of the kettle in the cup ! i remember a cpl of yrs ago getting home after a right day and putting coffee in the cup and hot water and sturing it before the milk & sugar went in but after sturing it for a short while the coffee was getting stiffer and stiffer the mrs had left the bledy gravy where the coffe jar lives and it was the same bledy colour lid ! im giving up coffee and start drinking tea !!!!!!!!!!!

I must have used miles of 19/.044 it was lovely stuff when working with 1” conduit. We had a lot of DC systems, it was used for near every circuit.

I used it for the earthing of my first house. It was cheap (free) so why not?

One thing I liked, it fitted in to a standard 16mm crimp.

From one old git to another, leave out the Lol next time. I remember 7/029 & 3/036! That's why i like 4mm.
Remember a lad at college and he couldn,t remember his cable sizes and whatever the question his answer was always7/029 one day the lecturer stood up and said "well I knew it would happen one day" we all asked"knew what would happen?" "simple" he said "John finally got a cable size question right" .Law of averages perhaps?
