I am training to become an electrician

Hi,

I'm hoping someone will be able to help me.
I am interested in becoming an Electrician and need advice on where to begin, I have other industry experience however not electrical.

Does anyone know what course(s) I would require, and where I would be able to find them?

local colleges will be able to advise. It would also help if people such as yourself gave some indication of where you are located. You would probably get some well informed local advice if you did.

"The electrical trade is currently mainly governed by the JIB (joint industry board), who require City and guilds 2330 Levels 2 and 3, City and Guilds National Vocational Qualification Level 2 and 3, and a completion of a recognised apprenticeship or suitable practical training, to qualify as an Installation Electrician."

welcome aboard-the college route is the most cost effective and takes 3-4 years- 2 years level 2, 1 year level 3, then NVQ and AM2. Try to get a job as a trainee or mate whilst studying on a day release basis that way you'll get the experience at the same time.
