Evenin all.:)

Now then, more as an interest to see who actually does it than anything else, so please be honest.

When you have just completed a straight forward CU change, no other work as all was up to scratch....just the CU swap. How many of you do the full 3 step ring final circuit test.

I'll create a poll so you can just vote rather reply if you'd like

Cheers chaps.

completely honest answer mate, yes. i have the metrel that does it all by connecting the croc clips so no reason for me not to tbh.

What does that actually mean?
You'll still have to do your interconnections and measurements at each outlet, how does the Metrel make a difference and how much are they :)

I must admit that on some jobs when testing rings I start to think sod it regards full testing, but everytime my brains always tells me to do it as its not worth chancing any shortcuts.

I can't believe I've never heard of this before-does it do what it says on the tin?

it does mate yes. cracking machine. i managed to get it at a ridiculous price of £500 with all the bits included which when the wholesalers were doing it inc the vat for around £900 it wasn`t a bad find :D

A-ha! Knew it. Just knew it, damn Watchdog and its pesky experts.

No way he really climbed that step ladder and disconnected that neutral himself - that was camera trickery.

He used a Metrel Neutral remover, complete with Merv adapter.

Heheheh - at least I have something to prove to all the disbelievers around me that there really is an A C Cable in the NIC lol. Good ol' Tony.

I do it every time, it only takes about half an hour.
How many of you IR the whole installation in one go without disconnecting anything at the CU like I do?

I do the ring 3 step. Anything that is asked on the certificate.
I do the individual IR tests. Pretty easy at a press of the button to do it individually.
But if there alot of lights involved than I do do it LN to E.

Depends on what I found during the survey. If the end-to-ends are what I expected, then no, just the R1 + R2. If not, then the full 3 tests. Reflected in the price though. Always do a whole install IR test first to see what the result is.

Steve.
