I have been out of the game for 15 years what do i need to get back up to date ???

Hi everyone, I was a time served (YEB) regional electricity board electrician back who qualified circa 1989/90 with City & Guilds 2361 and 2362
I was also JIB graded as approved round 1991,
I left the electrical installation game around 15 years ago now but still worked in building related fields.
My question is what would I need to do to be able to now join a part P scheme and sign off my own domestic work .
I assume I must do a 17th edition course but which one and what else would I need to do please?

I am wanting to only do domestic installations

first call would be to napit or elecsa, tell'em your quals and experience. go from there.

First call would be to NICEIC

You'll get your approved grade back with a 2382 17th edition certificate and an ECS test.

if your in leeds you could do the 17th at leeds college, the building college or the exam only if you wanted to at wakefield skills ctr who also do the full course. the schemes should let you join but will either want the 17th within a certain time or maybe before granting membership

depends who you are wanting to do work for. lees city council is in the mindset of only accepting nic electricians work on their properties but if your finding your own work and customers i would go with elecsa

I did my original 2361 /2362 at Kitson in leeds in 87/88 so may try there fir old times sake !!

ahh kitson college then was leeds college of tech and now leeds city college
