Hello All,

I am just finishing my Level 3 2365 Diploma. I need to get my NVQ which requires on-site experience building a portfolio etc, so that I can apply for an ECS card. But....I need an ECS card to get on-site in the first place.

Anyone know how to get around this paradox?

You can take the cscs exam for 40 notes and then get a labourers card to start which will get you on site, as you progress and get qualifications you can request a different card.

Sorry mate, I'm not trying to contradict you. They've moved the goal posts on that one, the CSCS exam will get you a temporary card (lasting 6 months) you need to do another full day attendance course for the 'full' green labourers card.
The whole experience cost me ÂŁ120 plus ÂŁ30 for the card, and that expires in 4 years.

I don't know if I would be eligible for this, I do not have a sponsorship or 2360. The eligibility & requirements is so badly written, that I cannot even understand it. It lacks the use of the words "or" & "and". So I can't tell if I need everything listed or just my level 3 tech certificate.

With your 2356 you will be eligible, the only issue is the sponsor. I do know of lads who have got their ecs card without providing a sponsor, I would just include a letter stating you position of being in a catch 22. Best bet would be to phone the jib.

Contact the JIB

Might look at the CSCS myself, you need to do a H&S Qualification Level one and the CSCS Test.
I would think the H&S qualification would be about ÂŁ100-150 but i get prices of ÂŁ500!!

I keep seeing jobs saying ECS/CSCS i asked the JOB GangMasters what kind of CSCS and never gotten a reply back

as for Pandora Box, thats Hope.
Some thing like this is Catch 22, to get out of then army you have to be crazy but if you know you are crazy you are sane
in that case just shoot your little toe off

Rollox, that is totally untrue, a 40 quid 60 question multi choice exam run by the JIB will get you the card, it can be given to any grade as well, even labourer.

I know the ECS/JIB is the Same thing and the ECS card is the Electricians version of the CSCS

But its the ECS/CSCS, the / to me means Divide or the word Or.
ECS or CSCS

mm i was talking about CSCS card above, as you need Heath and Safty level 1 Qualification Now to gain it along with the CSCS Questions.

[h=1]Labourer[/h]You can apply for this card if you have either:
Passed the QCF Level One or SCQF Level 4 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment. To find out how to take this award contact your local college of further education, training centre or Jobcentre Plus. They will advise you about training and assessment availability, pricing and whether funding is available. Click on these links to view Training Centres approved by Cskills Awards City & Guilds (click on Find a Centre) andPearson.
or Hold a valid Site Safety Plus Health and Safety Awareness Course certificate
or Complete the IOSH Working safely course
All applicants must also pass the Operatives CITB Health Safety & Environment test.
Construction Skills Certification Scheme | Official Website - Labourer

So what big do you Think I said is ROLLOX then.
CSCS card /\ link above
The Jobs asking for ECS/CSCS, well *** ECS / JIB Electricians *** Job, Central London (UK) | Madigan Gill
Now if you wanted someone with ECS card, then say ECS card, if you say ECS/CSCS it means ECS or CSCS
To me that is basic Logic, one or zero
