hi, i have a house converted into 3 flats. i want to re-wire the whole house as the old cabling is dated.

cut a story short i need to know what size mcb's to use as a standard.

i have rigged the flats up so that each flat has its own meter and CCU, all fed from a main CCU in the basement.

what size mcb should i use in the flats ccu and what size should i use on the basement ccu?

im not a fully qualified sparky but i am getting there (already have C&G LVL 2) and money is tight as we all know, but i want to do it right on my own, without causing a risk.

ps all bonding work is done!

Apologies for asking the obvious but how do you expect to get this past LABC??

If you want to do it right "without causing a risk" get a few sparks in to quote and make your "labour" part of the deal.

Would you really be happy botching rewires, and having tenents in?

I'm sorry son but as someone that is apparently in the "industry" how can anyone give you advice on protection devices without cable sizes, loading etc etc

Hi Malcolm: Probably would at that mate:lol: How do people expect us to Spec protective devices without any circuit loading info etc.
You still with the family or back to the Grindstone ? By the way mate: Happy New Year.

Reading your previous posts, assuming I am correct, you are ex military
Being an ex (many years ago) RAf spark,I hope you succeed in getting your sparking career going.I have a lot of time for ex military guys who have left and need to re train

You are learning the trade but in need of a lot of mentoring
The question you have asked is poorly outlined even if there were mystics on the forum who could do the impossible and give you an mcb figure

Re write your post, with information on such things as cable type, sizes, expected loads distances adequacy of supply etc and you would not get the slagging off that is current at the moment
Take more care with the information that you provide and there will be opinions to give to you

Good luck Des
