I got this message from a customer.

"I'd like to know if there is a way to get power/and or light into my garage. The issue is that it's across the street!"

I am going out to the job on Friday, but I cannot see how it can be done on the face of things.

Any ideas welcome

2 x 120 amp hour batteries ÂŁ200,1000w inverter ÂŁ120.00 ,regulator ÂŁ35.00 , solar panel ÂŁ300, wind turbine ,ÂŁ495, cable socket light ÂŁ100 days labour ÂŁ200 may be a little more but its a very basic set up , and wouldnt supply the like of a welder ,powertools , but realy it depends on what you require to run in it , in my shed i have a 120 AH battery supplied by a 30 watt solar panel with a small home made wind turbine , this supplies power for 2 lights one inside the shed one outside the shed both are low energy fittings 28 watt 2 d HF, i am working on one to power the lights in the house ,problem is the noise from the turbine very noisy vibrates all over the place

Small generator - job done

Re: I'd like to know if there is a way to get power/and or light into my garage. The

You could go for:
Separate supply
Generator
Alternative energy source (wind turbine/solar panel)
Battery
Window/skylight.
It depends how much light is required and how extravagant the customer is, or more likely, how much they want to spend.

Put a pylon in garden, and another next garage, string a catenary wire across, job done.
And dont forget, this work will be notifiable:cool:

New supply with cutout and meter. Get the DNO to give you a quote but dont hold your breath as it usually takes ages and sit down when you open the quote it will be a lot of money.
