tt system with a 2.5mm earthing conductor and a 300mA rcd in front of main switch. im assuming tt as leaves and goes off under the floor to where i dont know.

the guy rang me and said he got shock off washing machine and called appliance engineer and he checked the socket and no cpc at sockets in garage. there is also a cable hanging out side of garage for secuity light which aslo must have damaged cpc as im getting 115v between line and cpc the laast time i was up there..

now he keeps going onto me about fixing things, if you were me would you tell him he needs a periodic inspection and test carried out..

I would say from what you have said that the installation would need both an inspection and remedial work doing before i was willing to start as it sounds unsafe currently. You are liable if your are the last man there whom has carried out work!

Only liable for what you do.....
Aslong as what you do is right you'll be fine.
Easier said than done i know.
I'd probably tell them of anything I seen that wasn't right.

I think testing first is the way to go also.
