Hi all

I'm testing a communal board next week and on the board there's a lighting circuit with emergency on the same circuit, now what I want to know is as well as testing and recording results on eicr do I have to issue a emergency lighting certificate as well, reason I'm asking because I spoke to another spark today and he said no you don't have to issue one as wer only testing the wiring but I disagree what's every1 else's opinion

if the landlord asks for a yearly emergency light test certificate then let him have one, if not then no I wouldn't issue one at all, they have asked for a EICR only, you only do the work the customer asks for usually.

nope , em light certs are a completely different entity , test the wiring but not their standby operation for your eicr.

Recommend that you mark it down in the limitations. That way there can be no dispute further down the road if a problem crops up with the EM lighting.
