At a clients house today to wire his Y-Plan. I decided to put in a 1-way db as there was nowhere to pick up a supply due to me not wanting to lift laminate flooring...
Directly below the boiler, cylinder etc was the dno cut out so I thought no problem, a couple of henley blocks and the jobs a good un. When I looked closer, the dno had changed the wiring from overhead TT to an underground TT system. To save them having to put the cut out in a new place, they used a concentric cable into the db ( about 20ft away) and joined it without the use of , well, anything really...apart from some tape!!!
Contacted DNO and they basically said tough...as did british gas (supplier) and some meter firm that I cant remember.
Nice to see they maintain a high standard of workmanship...not!
