Hi all,
New to this forum so hopefully you don't mind me popping in to ask a quick question.
I have just swapped a standard ceiling rose / pendant, for an IKEA low voltage fitting. The lights work fine but the transformer inside the light unit is 'buzzing' - very annoying!
Can anyone advise if this is normal or common? I don't think it should be doing it and assume the transformer must be 'dodgy' (poorly wound maybe?).
Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Transformers have been known to buzz but if I had just bought a fitting from Ikea and it did that I would take it back and get it changed.

They do buzz from time to time. My advice though - take the cheap Swedish light back to the cheap Swedish shop, grab some cheap meatballs and sauce and exchange the light.

Cheers for the comments. Actually, I subsequently realised that it was the already fitted dimmer switch causing the problem. Changed it to a standard switch and the buzzing stopped...seems a dimmer might not work with this light. Meatballs and sauce it is then!

Actually ignore my comment - I've just remembered you said it was looped at the switch rather than 3 plated at the rose.
