If a plumber changes an immerser heater, is there a requirement for a minor works certificate to be issued?

Just looking to get it clear in my mind, I believe that there should as the circuit has had work carried out on it.

Not sure but do you issue a cert for changing a light fitting like for like in a bathroom?

I would do, yes.

At the moment, doing a contact testing shower circuits and issuing a MWC just for opening up the shower, switch and consumer unit to check for loose connections...

Not notifiable as its not technically a part of the fixed wiring.

You see I wouldnt issue for a like for like change.....

There is no requirement in the regs to issue any certification for maintenance, however, if you replace an item you may need proof that the replacement is suitably connected, a MWC may be a suitable form, however, other systems such as worksheets could not be precluded.

I would say that as long as it's an exact like for like replacement then a cert is not needed. If the flex was changed or the switch also, then I would issue a MW.

IMO no cert needed as its an "Appliance" being changed like a hand dryer or a heater
