Hi folks,
I have had my solar PV panels in since July and am now looking to get some more out of them by installing an immersion device. I believe the Immersun mark 2 is to be showcased in a couple of week with release to joe public soon after. Is it going to be worth the wait, will it be more expensive than the mk1 or has anyone got any inside info on it ? All I know is that it will be touch screen, have some interogation functions, trending maybe ?
Basically, will it be worth the wait or should I just pull the trigger on the mk1 ?
Kev.

March was last years peak generation month for a few people :)
We can all wait for the next best thing... Does the current version do what you NEED ?

Well it will be shown at next weeks Eco build 2013, Tuesday I think so I dont think hanging on a month or 2 for its official release will be too bad an idea. Last 3 days up here in Aberdeen I have been generating well over 3Kw for large parts of the day, 20.6Kw, 21.9Kw and 21.6Kw for the 3 days. I have just been switching on my immersion heater at lunch time so making use of my free power :)

we are fitting the mk 1 immersuns and they do what it says on the tin .we hear a rumour of one coming out with a wireless tail clamp
anybody else know about this?

Ig there is anyone going to ecobuild 2013 today, maybe they could have a look and report back on the 4Eco Ltd stand, it is supposed to be on show there today.

We already know the specs., we've just been emargoed until the show :) I'll report back for you - we will be there Thursday.

There's always the alternative........ The Snip
@ ÂŁ 249.00 retail ( which i'm trying to findout atm what the differences/advanatges are between this and Immersun !
Yes there's quite a price difference, they both claim similar performance.
There is now also the Solar Cache+, which seems to now be the Optimmersion from the Wattson meter people. Now that is even more expensive. My concern remains reports of flicker, although both Optimmersion and the Solarimmersion claim no flicker. I2 with a very basic website also claims no flicker, but none explain why or how these controllers work, and how they avoid flicker.

In theory your three main choices (definitley in no particular order) are
Itelligent Immersion (Made by Echase on this forum) Intelligent Immersion.
Solar Immersion Mk II (Made by thushar on this forum) SolarImmersion - Surplus Solar Energy Water Heater | Intelligent Solar PV Immersion Heater Switch - Use Surplus PV Power to Heat Water
ImmerSun PV Water Heating, Solar Hot Water Switch and Controller Supplier in Lincolnshire, UK | 4eco Ltd

There are other prodcuts though price, reliability, availability, warranty and engineering quality really keep them out of the top three.

Some companies are more stablished than others, trade prices are closing as the distribution channels are being established.

There are onlyv two methods of proportional control:

Burst Fire
Phase angle.

for more detial on how these work, go to the cheapest of all solutions for a proportional control system: Labs | OpenEnergyMonitor
