Auger bit going thru joist, locked up flung my hand round and thumb hit floorboard. Hard. Spade bits from now on for tight work...

You're a macabre bunch!! By the way i did my thumb first then half hr later did my finger same way. Milwaukee drill is lethal! Big skin flap on thumb has fused itself back on but i assure you it was deep, and stings like mad!

And the nurse made it look extra dramatic (she said she knew i wouldnt keep it clean because i'm a tradesman so she put extra bandages on! Her dad was a joiner apparently)

Went to A&E for that, Southern pansy! :)
Us Northerners would have just stick us hand in a bowl of vinegar for 5 minutes, that'd sort it, and carry on.

Glad to hear the drill is well.

I would have just bitten the flap of skin off and eaten it.....no need to go butty shop then and be finished and home half n hour earlier!!

Hope ya ok tho fella.

Haha i knew i'd get a bit of stick for that! Thumb was deep mind, you could see white bits (fat cells) in the cut.

I had all the floors open in an occupied rewire when it happened so i had to put a plaster on, run the last run of the ring back to the board and then get all the boards back down.

hope you logged off the payroll going to A&E. can't expect some other sod to pay you wages for time off caused by your own clumsiness. a couple of sheets of bog roll and some gaffer tape would have done.
