One of the reasons I don't like auto electrics is finding where thing are ,unless you are doing them all the time you get left behind . Another reason is you have to be a contortionist; and at my age that is wishful thinking. :(
 
Believe it or not, I actually trained as an Auto electrician when i first left school.
Mainly on Plant & Commercial stuff with a few cars / motorbikes thrown in for good measure but decided I liked working on mains stuff better than DC so changed over.
Done bits & pieces of Auto over the years but like you not regularly enough to be really up on things, totally agree with having to be a contortionist. It's definitely a youngster's game nowadays.
 
I worked on plant like in my avatar . That is an electric face shovel.
I also worked on heavy plant and auto electrics for a number of years . As you say -a young man's game.
 
Only Auto electrics i'd get involved in nowadays would be vintage stuff, my Wilkson test set & Avo need an airing every so often :)
