indoor external wiring. is it safe?

I am moving to a new home and it has external wiring (on the walls as opposed to into the walls). Is that safe?

Its safe in the fact that you, hopefully wont, drill through them to hang a picture . nothing wrong electrically, just dosent look so good!!!

OP Without actualy seeing what you are talking about it is very difficult to say its "Safe" or not your best bet would be to say where your located and possibly getting a member round to advise you on what course of action would be best GoodLuck
