Would be very interested to hear anyone`s experiences regarding their LABC`s requirements regarding House Of Multiple Occupancy (s)

Generally, and most particularily, regarding the provision of socket-outlets (as in, how many are your local Building Control insisting upon)

Both for individual bedrooms, and also communal living areas such as kitchen.

Receiving conflicting information from various members of our Building Control (nothing new there then ) but curious to hear if there`s any National consensus on this.

And when i say National i mean England (possibly Wales) No offence to the Scots on here (especially Scotsparky ;)) but up North they seem to have it sussed - everyone reading from the same page. Would be interested to hear any different tho :p (says, a bit jealously)

Not sure if this helps and that i am on the same page, but i have done a few student digs and havent done anything different thatn i would a normal house with regard to quantity of sockets.

having said that, i have never had building control involved.

:)

It helps bud. It all helps...

BC are already involved due to major re-construction work. Client told by a new Inspector that provision for at least 4 dbl S/Os required for each of the 8 (modest sized) bedrooms & similiar amount in kitchen - in excess of those for fixed appliances.
Don`t know what area this B.O. has arrived from, but apparently, so he says, thats what they asked for there.
Just wondered how you fellas got on in other areas
Thanks for tryin J :)
