Hi all, Im new to this forum and i thought i would use it as ive started my own business. I just wondered if anyone could answer a few questions.

Where to get hold of test certificates, installation, continuation etc?

Part P only covers work in special locations etc, some of my work will be commercial, what's required for this? Can I issue an installation certificate/minor works?

Any advice would be brilliant

cheers

Think you will find that Part P covers domestic properties gardens etc and premises where their is a business and a domestic dwelling where they share the same meter not just special locations.

Dustonelectrical.co.uk do the installation certificates you are after.

As for commercial work no legislation covers that as far as I am aware. Providing the customer does not ask for an NICEIC or equivilant certificate you can do it.

ELECSA can sell you sets of certifcate pads if you wish, you can also buy software like Easycert to manage all Minor Works, Periodics and Installation certificates. Nice piece of software.
Also you'll get a CD on Ebay for a couple of quid with templates of all certificates needed that you can just print out and fill in.
