hey people
just wondering i am a qualified electrician but havent had much experience in dealing with local authorities because have always worked for a electrical contractors in the comercial sector.
well any way i have recently bought a house and have rewired it but have still not notified building control because as i just bought the house all money was tied up in other things as you can imagine, so even though it was only a small fee of 150 pounds its still 150 pounds i required else where. whats the best way to go about this now.

Some people in your position tend to ignore the requirements of part p building regs

Other people in your position tend to know nothing of the nonesense and get a pir done for a regularisation certificate, if or when the house was sold in the future

Other people would lie and claim that the rewire was carried out before part p came into the fantasies of the idiots who dreamed it up

Others would pay a local registered spark to notify the work as if it were their install, for a small fee of course

Probably a small minrity of people would pay building control a large fee before they did the work and let them loose on things they know little about

The deed is done, you should have notified and payed before starting the work

Isn't it a crazy world where you have to pay to do the work you are trained to do in the first place

If your installation complies with Bs 7671 and you are found out,do you realise that yoiu would be the first person to be prosecuted for doing safe notifiable work ?

Given that it is safe and you have not done the work for a paying customer and not pretended to be in the Nicei when you are not, winning euro millions would be a better bet than a prosecution taking place

Now what was that about spending hard earned money on foolish ventures:)
