Hi all

We have a job next week to install an infrared beam across a gate,Which sets of an alarm when broken,Does anybody know the best way to wire this coming from the DB?

The last one i done worked from the gates control box and was low voltage 12 or 24 volt so it could be wired in t&e , but if you are connecting to an alarm it probably worth getting some external alarm cable 3 or 4 pair

is it a stand alone system or connected to the building alarm system, you wont get t&e in them, their 12vdc jobs, just fit a small alarm panel which can be set when ever they need it to be and either connect a sounder or a buzzer/led if its say going in a gatehouse, and id fit the twinbeams over single beams,as external you can get problems with false alarms with single beam ones due to birds.fox's etc

we use these a lot, quality kit
