I would imagine it's testing a complete installation, not just sockets and lights, I did my C&G Testing inspection and verification some time ago so I could be a bit outdated with my info, it;s a different scanario from the industrial maint testing I would think, sorry I can't be of any more help.
 
yes i know it will be different testing, but i carry out a lot of work on installations i.e modifying lighting, sockets, which of course it all comes under the 17th for modfying or new installs. im just wanting to know if anyone has done the EAL version whats involved? and also what background knowledge do you need before applying for the course?
 
In that case I can;t help any more I did the C&G course never heard of the EAL
 
What i'd like to know is how does/or can the C&G institute give a level 3 award to an ''Open Book'' Exam?? It's just bloody ludicrous and makes a mockery of the whole qualification set-up within the electrical industry...

There are plenty of other examples of so-called open book level 3 qualifications. That bloody worthless PAT qualification also warrants a level 3...
