i had to do a pir on a care home and within 10 min of getting on site i was on the phone getting a danger notice to the Faciliies company.

here is part of the list any comment will be interesting.

1 TT system no main earth or rod.
2 No RCD protection on system.
3 No main earth bond to water pipe
4 All circuits have high Zs Value exeeding tabulated as Ze >100Mohms.
5 Undersized sub main to DB3 16mm T&E from 63a BS88-2 HRC
6 Sockets for washing machines and tumble dryers located under Sink.
7 16mm double insulated to D.B 1,2 direct from Main supply protective device.
8 Fire alarm direct form incoming side of main isolator.
9 supply to db3 fed through unearthed disused water pipe.

before anyone says i have code 1nd all the above

I would have loved to isolate the whole place but its a residential home for Special needs and i couldnt.

Some one will be in the poo, worst one I have heard of. We had a domestic with no earth & electric board cut them off.

The sockets are directly below the sink and pipework normal white plastic. I would say external influences. if they were to the side or above the pipework then not a problem besides which no suplimentary bonding and one socket was loose on the fixings. As i said not all faults listed in origional post.

There is no requirement to suplementry bond under a kitchen sink.

Must admit it is a bit of a gray area, although pipes are there they should not leak. Its a bit like saying the socket is fitted on the ground floor with the bathroom above on the first floor.

not a fault, but concerns care home for mentally challenged children. on being called to do a pir on the home , i found that the last pir was only 12 months previous. i pointed out to the home owner that pir's were usually 5 years, but she replied "as its a care home, it has to be done every 12 months" i can find no evidence to support this , so who is right?

6 should have a code as it doesn't comply with 7671, surely. I don't know if I'd code 1 it, but it definitely warrants a code IMO.

I think we're getting sidetracked here, though. Are they actually trying to kill the inclusive people living there, or what? Jeez Louise!

Scots can't you get a temporary spike banged in somewhere?

Doono i put a danger notice on it that day and the FM company were informed verbally,By email and in writing e. I recommended a retest in 6 days on my PIR after all faults rectified.
