Hi Everyone

Been asked to change a sticking 3 port valve on a domestic heating system, but dont do much heating work. A pal told me to cut cable of old valve and terminate it in connector bolcks and connect the valve to this thus not disturbing the 10 way junction box. I will look at putting it in to the main wiring J/B just deppends what sort of mess its in, also what tests would you carry out?

Any help advice would be much appreciated

Many Thanks

It's only 5 cores, can't you just cut the old ones about an inch each from the choc blocks in the wiring centre then swap them over one at a time if your unsure where they should go?

I would definitely be functional testing, using your stats, programmer and checking the arm on the valve to ensure it opens and closes when it should and also the boilers firing

Hi Welchyboy

Good idea about cuting old cable inch and then swapping over cores.

Thanks for takking the time to answer my thread.

Cheers
