Hello everyone. First post here.

I need to install some downlights into a kitchen ceiling, ideally LED. Above the ceiling is 10 inches of rockwool and then some underfloor heating pipes running at 50degC. Does anyone know of any lights that would be suitable?

Cheers,
Ken

LED fire rated fittings would be good but you will still need to clear the rockwool away from them and the driver/transformer.

You could cut out a square section of the ceiling at each point and cut out the rockwool then fit some battens re-fit the board then drill your holes for the downlights.

If I used Haler H2s say, and I made an enclosure to give the recommended 50mm air gap above, then that would give me only 50-100mm of rockwool between the enclosure and the ufh pipes. Should I be worried about the heat from above affecting the longevity of the electronics?

I has EXACTLY the same problem a couple of weeks ago. The Aurora ones are fine, but the cans on them are quite tall. Halers LED ones are only 80mm to the top, and having spoken to Halers tech desk, so long as you can get 50mm of space all around them (which is really only just pushing the insulation back around with your hand through the hole) then they are happy for them to co-exist with underfloor heating pipes.
