HiI have just test a couple of phone chargers in my house using a Kewtech KT71.When i have pressed the class 2 test it goes through it sequence and then fails on insulation, but if i press the test again (still on the same test i think)it passes. Now if i was doing this test for real would i fail it because initially it failed, or should i pass it because i pressed the test again and it passed?Hope you understand that. Many thanks

Could it be the electronics inside the charger having an efect that looks like the insulation is leaking?
I have the same problem with filtering capacitors on 3 phase inverters which look like an earth leakage fault untill the capacitors are charged.
A right pain I must say because they are powered from an RCD and it keeps tripping.
Do your phone chargers (double insulated and all that) have a plastic earth pin or is it metal?

I've seen cheap chargers and 5 into 1 multiplug adapters that have a neon power indicator that has one leg on the earth, these are invariably borderline with an IR test.

To tell you the truth i am not sure now because i threw them away because i have spare ones so not sure what they were.Would that make any difference though
