insulation / resistance test

Hi guys , what different ways do you all test for insulation / resistance test ??
The way of testing with 500v with removal of all lamps , appliances etc is a bit demanding at times .
Any thoughts ??

Thanks trev1 , thats how i see it , someone said test 250v then removal not a problem , but that seems like half measures ?

On a PIR that maybe the only way you can test L-N connected then to earth. If you have a factory with hi bay lighting are you going to start to disconnected each luminaire ?

Also have a read of regulation 612.3.2

Agree that an initial verification should be done at 500v between all conductors and it is poor planing not to do so, but sometimes on a PIR you don't have many options

i would imagine , medical equipment that has to be continually connected would also be a tough one ....
