Insurance renewal time is upon me once again . Before I starting shopping round for quotes I could do with knowing who's worth trying. Who are you chaps using?

Ta very much

We use Hiscox via Napit and they have been very good so far, again not claimed but came close and they offered lots of advice.

Just make sure they don't put down last years turnover!!!

We paid just short of 1k with NICEIC last year and that was the cheapest I could find for Employers liability, professional indemnity and Public Liability for £5 million. Ours will be up next month so if anyone gets any decent deals i'd appreciate knowing too.

Been quoted around the same with Northern Alliance. Will see how many alternative quotes I can get before nodding off....

NAPIT about the same as my renewal
MMA nearly twice as much

I'll probably stick with the devil I know. Dan at Northern Alliance has always been helpful and personable.

Give Clive Turner a call at J D Cliff & Co. 01772 783286 [email protected] The A to Z of Key Insurance Grpou Ltd we pay a lot less than £1k, Though our £90,000 of plant insurnace did cost us £750 itwas still better than anywhere else we could find (we use a LOT of plant sometimes :) )

Umm interesting I went with Napit and hiscox also paid £1,280 maybe now it will be cheaper that was for working at heights too

I'm thinking about reducing the cover, excluding the working at heights in the short term (ours is due end of Sept) and increasing it when sales start to pick up. I reckon I could save £300/£400 by doing this over the winter period. If things start looking up it's only a phone call to increase the cover again, if as suspected sales die a death over the winter I've saved a few quid.

Well I've done the rounds of the insurance companies, taken some advice and this is what I've got:
£5 million public liability
£10 million employers liability
£75k professional liability
some others bits & bobs jury service, legal support, tax investigation efficacy

Grand total £484 from NICEIC - not bad methinks!

No tool cover, storage cover or on site cover so not for everyone but for a small business like us it's a big saving.

So hiscox after our renewal I said we'll you need to sharpen your pencil mate them prices are far too expensive as there's a massive decline in the trade he come back £130 cheaper
