interchangeable MCB's

Wonder if anyone can give me a short list of what manufacture CU's and MCB's are interchangeable.

interchange at your peril. this will invalidate any claim against the manufacturers in the event of fire or injury. ( a bit like insurance companies, any excuse not to pay up)

In general MCB's etc are not interchangeble and although you may argue the case that others fit perfectly you are bound to regulation re' following manufacturers instructions which almost always state that only their brand to be used within the cinsumer unit.... havingsaid this there is acceptable circumstances when you can interchange differing brands i.e. schneider are a major market player who make Merlin-gerin, Square D, and Telemecanique and in certain cases the same mould is used to make the different branded products.
You would find that Square D MCCB range and Merlin Gerin MCCB range is the same and can be interchange on some models thus if you are ever pull up for doing so you would have the manufaturers approval.
Also with the Schneider brand you will now see all Merlin gear is been rebranded as Schneider yet they are still the one and the same model no's and parts.

Most important to add here is you will need manufacturers approval pref' by email if their own products are interchanganle

I have been doing a FWT on a five year office block, and have noticed on the Merlin DBs they have wrote on the pan assembly 'to be used with Merlin products only'.
But on the same site, some clever person has fitted a MEM mcb in the Merlin DB!!
