intermediate dilemma

Hi guys, I have a 4 ways switch, with 2 intermediate module, if the switch line and the feed are in one of the intermediate module would it works?
I think in theory it will...
anyone can help please?

Do you mean a 4 gang switch?

If you don't need the intermediates why not install a 4 gang 2 way instead of what ever old useless cack you have lying around in the van?

an intermediate switch is wired into the strappers. that's how it's meant to work. it's a cross over switch.

Maybe he’s got two 2way switches and two intermediate switches and wants to take the switch feed and switch wire to the intermediate first? Obviously wouldn’t work unless he wired the strappers in three core.

i mean i have 2x 2way push button dimmer module switches and 2x intermediate module dimmer. is the same light circuit in an hallway
the wiring is:
3core,but instead of having the switch line and feed in one of the 2way push button module they are in the box with one of the intermediate module.
would it work?

If you're asking if the cable (which should be twin&earth) from the switch to the light/supply can come off the intermediate instead of the 2-way....yes it can....there's no difference electrically. Draw it out.

Best thing to do is to step back and draw it out. If you're not sure, search on the net for images of 3-way lighting circuits.

If you went to the wholesalers and bought the right stuff that you need for this you'd probably save yourself a load of trouble. Switches are not prohibitively expensive.
