Internet Suppliers - Shopping around

Just re-negotiated the mother in laws broadband deal with plusnet, she was paying £38.49 for an all all in unlimited broadband, line rental and calls package (they live in a rural property so market one, most expensive tariff!)

Got it down to £27.50 all in that was worth 20 mins on the net and a phone call!

There are a few wireless broadband providers around here but they get very mixed reviews for speed and reliability.

Wowsers, I think I'm better off with my fibre package.

do not expect much from phone line based (adsl) providers. that last mile of 50 years old twisted pair of copper and huge mess of wires in the BT box wont cut it for modern speeds.
currently got a virgin, 50 mbps or something, unlimited, comes on coax cable, £45 a month, 10 computers hooked up to it and no complains so far.

im just waiting for google fibre in the uk, they get 1gbps where they have rolled that out


bt and virgin are only rolling out fttc though which is disappointing maybe in another 20 years they will roll out fttp and we will catch up to korea's speed today
