Hi Guys,
Thought I'd intoduce myself and explain why and how I'm here.
I'm not strictly an electrician (please don't be hating!), but I do have electrical training behind me. I started out back in 1995 as a multi-skilled maintenance engineering technician apprentice, which covered Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation engineering across a four and a half year apprenticeship- yes I know, 'jack of all, master of none'- however despite critisms of this kind of training it's held me in good stead for future employment.
I've worked in a number of industries as a maintenance engineer/technician, pharmaceuticals, hydraulics, distribution and food manufacturing, and am currently taking some time out for an adventure in Africa trying to 'give a little bit back'to the world.
Professionally I'm qualified with indentures of apprenticeship, NVQ3 in maintenance engineering, HNC Mechatronics as well as working sporadically on a BEng with the OU, in addition to this I sit on the council of the Women's Engineering Society.
I found the forums whilst searching for resources to help me with the project I'm working on out here and I look forward to getting to know you all!
Thanks in advance, I hope at some point i'll be able to offer some input rather than just being take, take take!
