Hi Guys, I have been a reader of the forum for some time now and have found it interesting; informative and amusing. Dan; you asked me to introduce my self so here I am.
I work with renewable technology which is a range of trades. I have knowledge built up over 40 years of hands on work and study. I am not the fastest worker when it comes to installation but I always make it work.
Most of my working life I was an applications engineer in industrial refrigeration which i describe a bolting mechanical and electrical systems into a building. A good working knowledge of all the systems as well as the customers processes is essential. I now believe that the twin threats; climate change and peak oil are looming and we need to prepare our world for a transition to renewable, affordable energy.
Electricity is the energy of the future but we have to stop wasting it and reduce our reliance to a sustainable level. Increased carbon in the atmosphere is causing erratic weather patterns that threaten the human existence. We are all part of the solution or the problem; I want to be part of the solution.
I can offer my opinions on problems relating to solar PV and thermal, heat pumps and general energy efficiency. I also look forward to reading the interesting, informative and amusing comments from all the other contributors.
