Just wandered what people are using for their inverter choice as a budget option?

I've seen some good prices on Steca inverters recently and they look great. Anything else?

While were at it, what about panel prices?

It sounds like some companies are heading down towards 50p/w

Maybe we need an installer supply price thread away from prying eyes :)

I'm still paying around 60pw for cheaper modules and ÂŁ745 for aurora 3.6's and of course I'd like to know where to get them cheaper unless it's from solfex who can shove them where the sun don't shine at any price :(

Chris we're getting them from solar4trade with ten year warranty. Solfex will match their price but I wont deal with them after Stuart Cooper sent me a thanks for the continued support the week before the cut off was announced and told me to I could have mastervolt's or sod off unless I bought everything from him :( Now I buy nothing from them :)

Yeah, I get them from Solar 4 Trade after SRE tipped me off. 10 year warranty included is a real bonus. Rest of their stuff isn't priced that well though.

That's my dilemna at the minute - Segen are baiting me with an extra 1% discount for ordering kits, as you can generate your own kit and their ac/dc generation meters and cable are all really competitively priced I'm tempted but it's the warranty on the Power One that's stopping me. It might work out slightly more expensive with Power One but 10 years is a real bonus to our customers.

I'm happy to join in this collaboration. Current prices at Waxman near Huddersfield:

PVI 3600 indoor IP20 - £752.08 – 5 yr warranty
PVI 3.6 outdoor IP65 - £739.64 – 5 yr warranty

We're happy to put the outdoor one indoors. Not tried putting the indoor one outdoors though!

Has anyone run a real-world comparison of the two options? Is there a significant performance difference?

We just scraped in to the 8% discount band with segen, after the Autumn, and managed to stay there through Feb, and March, and they're happy to leave us there now even though our orders have been significantly down for the last 2 months.

We've put virtually everything through them for the last 18 months in order to bump our discount bands up with them as far as possible, and this has paid dividends now.

While there may be some able to offer cheaper rates on the odd bit of kit, overall, I don't think there are any able to offer those sort of prices on average across such a big range as segen with an 8% discount.

I did briefly dally with Krannich, but they ****ed us around on 3 orders in a row, never told us that stock we'd asked about had been delayed by 3 months, resulting in us having to placate customers with lower rated kit than we'd quoted for etc. So I gave up and shifted everything to Segen.
