Basically need to wire a shed 6mm swa into the non rcd side of a CU straight into a MCB. Garage will have its own RCD protected CU.

Just wondering if double pole isolation is needed at both end of the SWA?

Thanks

Depends on how you are wiring it up. As a matter of course whether it is needed or not i always fit a Henley Block and supply the Shed/Outbuilding from it protected with a suitable switch fuse, and then stick the CU on the other end as normal.
This way a problem in the shed wont affect the existing installation.

Cheers...Howard

Hey mate.Cable must be protected from the origin,so yes u will need a double pole sw specially if a lenght of the cable more than 2 meters..

The best way is from the non Rcd side of the consumer unit, this won't affect the rest of the installation as its on the non rcd side!,
Also if you fit 'heley blocks you will need to consider installing a main switch as its best practice to only have one point of isolation, as if theres a problem theres one switch labeled MAIN SWITCH so misses miggins can switch her eclectic off with out getting confused with multiple switch's.
The Swa is fine to only have Sp isolation VIA the MCB
Hope this clears things up
Regards
