Is it easy to gethd of 28 watt internal only

As the title asks, is it easy to get hold of the internals of a 28 watt fitting. Going to change one tomorrow and need to know if its something I can pick up from any wholesaler

Can I just find one that fits and just drill a couple holes and fix it in there

Buy a cheap 28watt 2d its cheaper than buying ballast etc

Yeah quicker and cheaper to get a new one.

Yes strip internal out of new 2d and put in old one, its prob only ballast required lamp holder prob fine

you can get time in a box replacement guts from edmunsons if memory serves me right, high frequency as well I think and probably as expensive as a new actual whole fitting.

they want to keep existing unit, thats why i can only change internals

Buy cheap 2d its alot cheaper price it up , as for wholesalers the likes of toolstation and screwfix sell same makes cheaper

Mostly ballast only that'll be faulty especially the new high frequency ones which last nothing like as long as the old style we are all finding out now

Tell em to spend some brass and get a like for like replacement
