Is it worth doing PAT Testing?

I've been asked to do some PAT testing on a school, which would mean investing in new test equipment etc. After looking at some old threads I think I've been put off! Is there any money in it? Considering I've had quotes from company's @ £0.95 and £1.20 per item. How many items could you expect to test in one day?

We only PAT test for our regular customers these days, like you said, companies with "one day wonder" trained testers do it for 99p or less a test. Its not worth getting out of bed for! These poor chaps must work for agencies and be getting paid pittence, and considering that, can you imagine the quailty of their work?? I've follwed these chaps around before, and any awkward appliances simply have a sticker saying "Visual Only" Whats the point in that??

I've done a bit of Pat testing, bloody boring, still its an easy day and its work. Try and get them to get everything out ready for you thats half the hassle.
