Today I was given permission to cut the seals on the customers meter:eek:, is this a first as it is usually an impossible task to do the job by the book.

Reason for it was the customer had British Gas out to fit a new meter. They refused to fit one as the tails from the meter were 10mm and were joined to the 25mm tail with choc blocks. Best bit was that all this is on a 100amp service fuse:cool:

Look at the care someone has took to trinm the 25mm tail down to fit in a 30amp choc block.
 
:eek: well i have seen twin trimmed back for outlets on namely a cooker outlet that they had struggled to wire in and only used two cores :eek: but never seen tails into choc blocks before.
 
Southern Electric have told me to remove the fuse to de-energise due to high Ze. I dont remove fuses (see my earlier posts if you want to know why), i just switch off the main switch on the board, and let them deal with their bits.
