was asked to put an extra socket in someones shed the other day. they had an existing socket in there and it was fed from 13amp fuse spur via 1.5 high tuff.

i told them i could no put extra socket as it could over load cable and advised that the cable needs to be 2.5

is this correct?
 
as its fused then you may fit as many as you like, not sure on the rating of 1.5 high tuff would need to check depending on installation conditions but 2.5 is prefered also rcd protection, bonding, partp.
