is this expensive??

ive been asked to qoute to fit 12 6ft florescents and 12 double socket outlets.

there is existing trunking. they want every point to be suspended from trunking.

materials cost around £1,200

qouted £2,500 all in.

there could be a bit of faffing about with towers for 2 of the fittings and i will need to do a bit of a freestyle with the suspended sockets

whats your thoughts

Cheap if you ask me, would think another 1K on that your not a charity and they are paying for your skills.

i averged it out at about £104.00 per point including materials.

not very sure when it comes to pricing commercial work... its also for a close family friend

its also for a close family friend theres NO such thing Dont set out to rip anyone off but when it comes to family and family friends I tend to keep away from doing work for them as they 1 dont want to pay going rate 2 moan about price to everyone else bar YOU behind your back and make you out to have been ripping them off 3 they expect you to do any wee extras for free and to give their job priority even when you have real Paid work to do

I have experienced this first hand in the past month!! and it isnt good!!

I have had this happen to me over a shower I fitted for a family member. I wish I hadn't bothered.

It was for my Mother's cousin & she's 70 something years old & her weight's about the same as her age !!
