Ive connected power to a Straight Dual Fuel Chrome Multirail Electric Towel Rail. Customer has asked if its ok to leave the thermostat for the central heating on and the element energised at the same time?

I cant see anything wrong with it as the element would have an internal thermostat to turn the element off if it gets too hot

Is this correct

thanks

Thats how I understand it, but you would have been better installing some sort of FCU time clock otherwise effectivly the electric element could run 24 hrs a day. Also when the heating system first starts up and it moves all of the nice warm water from the towel rail around the system, the electric element will be trying to heat the 'new cold water' as well as the boiler. All be it only until the boiler has warmed the whole system and the electric element has cut out. So you would set your time clock never to be on when the heating is on.

If that make sense.
