Just done a PIR on pub, and noticed there was no forms of isolation for the various items of kitchen equipment ( fryers, etc), other than the plug top, and the switch on the socket face.

My question is , is this acceptable , or do they need accessible isolaters?

Reg 537.3.2.6 stats a plug and socket or similar device of rating not exceeding 16amp may be used for switching off for mechanical purpose but is can not be used as an emergency switch 537.4.2.8

Not having the licensing regs to hand I would have thought a Pub Kitchen would have had to have means of emergency isolation, did it?

last pub kitchen i went to needed isolation from the earth ( earth as in planet )

ES buttons are not a requirement in commercial kitchens, unless fixed rotating machinery...as far as i'm aware, but hey if it makes money for the 'boys at the council' the rules may have changed

No you are very right no stops required.

However gas regs state that all
The gas lines have to have interlocking solenoids linked to the canopy extraction and usually to the fire alarms.

But it's ok, electrickery obviously doesn't have the same potential to kill that gas does
