Hi all.

I think I can safely say that we all agree that the DNOs should be providing double pole isolators for us to plug our tails into, but since as a matter of course they don't do, I'm asking you if there is any reason why we cannot supply & fit isolators ourselves. If we can, can we use a 100A Double Pole - such as are found in consumer units - fitted into a suitable enclosure?

The same argument applies though - the Suppliers dont want anyone breaking their seals.
I've had the Suppliers come out twice in the last few months before CU changes, to fit an Isolator and new tails before I start work. Dead easy to arrange, cost around £25 for me to supply the Iso and tails. No charge to fit them.
If you can plan in advance, I think it is the best way to go about it.
Alan.
