Looking to fit an isolator switch before consumer unit, anyone have any recommendations and/or links? Cheers

Doesn't make sense though, so if we fit it it doesn't meet regs but if they do it's fine.......I'm going to phone them and ask them what they are going to fit, if it's plastic I'll just say well it doesn't comply with the regs so I'll fit my own

This has been installed by the DNO. We've been advised that we cannot touch it as its their property. We've now got to wait for it to be removed so that we can fit a main isolator, in a metal box, and make the SWA gland off into it!

they also don't like you to fit any exposed earthed metal in a meter box as it presents a far greater risk of shock to DNO personnel or meter fitters when working with live conductors.

Why do you want a self connect service isolator to be removed anyway? I don't see why you would want to connect an SWA directly to the isolator anyway?

They aren't and i'll try and upload a picture tomorrow as Chrome isn't playing ball tonight.

Thanks for the feed though. Be good to know if they try and charge the customer (or my company) for removing the equipment!

If it's in the quarter of the box designated for consumers equipment then move it!

Dave, do you know if the above is just ukpn or applicable to all DNOs? I have just didn't spent 20 minutes trawling through NEDLs tech docs to find similar but couldn't. I would be interested to know.

To HM, save the customer a fiver and fit the rec ISO yourself. I would more than happily do it for ÂŁ128.00 mate!
